As a senior at Boston University, I was taking classes in Aerospace Engineering in order to earn an Aerospace Concentration for my Mechanical Engineering degree. One of the classes I took in order to fulfill the requirements was the class "ME408 Aircraft Performance and Design". This class was a semester long design class where group of us were given a type of aircraft to design from the ground up. During class time were were taught the methods of the design process and worked on out semester projects. This class was really cool because I could see the intricacies of aircraft design, though a bit underwhelming as I expected more design and less use of spreadsheets. Despite this, I will still able to learn a lot about how aircraft are designed including the common practices and standards of the field.
