I never would have expected that I would get published, not that I am complaining. When I originally entered research, I came in with the mindset that I wanted to do more with the engineering knowledge I had amassed throughout my time in school. When I officially started doing research, I was enjoying the satisfaction of making something from scratch and watching it come to life doing what I needed it to do; my work has even been used by other people who need my creations for their own projects. While it may not be something I plan on perusing in my future career (for now at least) research has taught me a lot, and the fact that it has led me to getting a paper published in my name is by far the coolest thing ever.
